Q: Who is your favorite villain from a book?
Hmmm...my favorite villain? To be my favorite villain, he would have to be my vision of the perfect villain. He? Yes, he. It sounds incredibly sexist and I have no problem with that. My perfect villain is a sexy bad boy who does all the wrong things for all the wrong reasons, but now and again he'll do something nice or sweet and, for a moment, you forget who and what he is.
My favorite villain is Algaliarept from The Hollows. Al is a demon. He trades various things for demon marks. (Example: If you summon Al to kill someone, and he agrees, your payment would be to wear one of his demon marks. Never get 3 demon marks from the same demon.) Al's job is to convince people to get demon marks, then he drags you into the ever-after (demon world) and sells you to other demons. The only person Al is occasionally nice to is Rachel, his itchy-witch.
But a slow, deeply satisfied smile came over him, and his breath quickened. “So softly it starts,” he whispered. “Foolishly clever and with an unsurvivable trust. It just saved your miserable life, that questionable show of thought, my itchy-witch.” Al's smile shifted, becoming lighter. “And now you will live to possibly regret it."
