Feature & Follow #13

Feature & Follow is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee & Alison Can Read.

Q: Share your favorite literary quote!

Another impossible task. *sigh* As usual there is no way I can narrow it down to a favorite. I'd have to break out diagrams and flow charts; lets just say it wouldn't be pretty.  So I've chosen a quote from an author, a couple quotes from books, and just to shake things up a little small parts from a few poems. It's weird I don't even like the whole poem, just the parts in the quote. Also, just because I couldn't resist, a quote from Doctor Who.

Literature is my Utopia. Here I am not disenfranchised. No barrier of the senses shuts me out from the sweet, gracious discourses of my book friends. They talk to me without embarrassment or awkwardness.  ― Helen Keller
From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were; I have not seen
As others saw; I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I loved, I loved alone.   ― Edgar Allan Poe, Alone
He lives. I breathe. I want. Him. Always. Fire to my ice. Ice to my fever.  ― Karen Marie Moning, Shadowfever
"You're the son of Satan. Literally."
"And you are the stepdaughter of Denise Davidson."
Wow. That was a bit harsh, but, "Okay, point taken.”
― Darynda Jones, First Grave on the Right
“I went down like a drunken cowgirl trying to line dance to Metallica.”    ― Darynda Jones, First Grave on the Right
“I just don't believe in helping people who are going to torture me. Though I don't see any bamboo slivers. How can you possibly torture someone without bamboo slivers?”
― Laurell K. Hamilton, Circus of the Damned
The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep
― Robert Frost, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
What though the radiance which was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind,      ― William Wordsworth, Ode
You want weapons? We're in a library. Books are the best weapon in the world. This room's the greatest arsenal we could have. Arm yourself!   ― Doctor Who
